Apple iPad announced

Apple CEO Steve Jobs reveals the iPad

The new Apple’s tablet, the iPad, is finally here. This is a great device with a 9.7″ touchscreen and it’s announced like a Kindle killer, but you really think that?

  1. First of all, iPad will cost $499 plus $130 extra for a 3G modem and $30 a month for unlimited wireless access. Kindle only $259 including unlimited wireless access.
  2. The iPad battery life is 10 hours. The Kindle, with wireless off, 2 weeks and with wireless on 1 week.

If you want a complete device with wifi connection, music, video, gaming and -of course- e-reading capabilities, then you need an iPad tablet. If you simply want an e-reader, then you need a Kindle. Now, what device do you really need?
